My name is Ting Dai. I am a Staff Data Scientist and Solution Architect at InsightFinder AI.
I was a Staff Research Scientist at IBM Research.
I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, supervised by Xiaohui (Helen) Gu.
My research interests are in the areas of system reliability and security, with the current focus on LLM Evaluations.
Research Highlights
My dissertation research combating performance bugs is to conduct performance checking and repair on application bytecode or runtime syscall traces to enable generic performance bug diagnosis [SoCC'17, TPDS'19], data-corruption caused hang bug detection [SoCC'18], and corruption or inter-process communication failure induced hang bug fixing [SoCC'20].
My recent research targets risky scripts in infrastructure code that cause not only performance issues but also reliability, security, and availability problems [SoCC'20].
Moreover, I have also worked on timeout bugs [IC2E'18, ICAC'18, ICDCS'19], container vulnerabilities [IC2E'19], privacy-preserving blockchain [DSN'19], and energy-efficient video streaming [MMSys'22].
